This video from FESCA taken at the fourth Systemic Sclerosis World Congress in Lisbon in 2016 shares two presentations dedicated to the progression of scleroderma and how it affects patients on a long-term basis.
First up is Dr. Jason Lee whose presentation is aimed at scleroderma patients and what they can expect as their condition progresses. Lee talks about the various scleroderma-related conditions that many patients develop such as Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjogren’s syndrome, pulmonary hypertension and renal failure.
The second presentation is by patient and scleroderma advocate, Kim Fligelstone, who was diagnosed with the disease 27 years ago at the age of 29. She talks about her own personal journey with scleroderma and some of the complications she’s faced over the years.
