Scleroderma Stories: Amy
In this video from Scleroderma Colorado, we meet Amy. Amy was diagnosed with diffuse scleroderma in September 2013.
Discover 10Â important symptoms of scleroderma.
For Amy, the first sign of the disease came when her hands started turning blue while driving. At that point, doctors couldn’t figure out what was happening, but over time other symptoms developed. She began to experience swelling in her limbs, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, and intense stomach aches.
The progression of Amy’s scleroderma has been fast, and she now suffers from serious lung and stomach complications. In a last-ditch bid to halt the progression of the disease, Amy decided to undergo stem cell treatment. She is currently waiting to see how much of a difference it will make.
