Scleroderma Foundation Looking for Participants for Research About Food Choices

The Scleroderma Foundation is looking for scleroderma patients to take part in a research study about food choices and the effects they have on the disease.

Posting on its Facebook page, the organization says that many patients attending the Scleroderma Foundation Patient Education Conference last year expressed an interest in research into food and scleroderma. It is appealing for patients who currently suffer from gastrointestinal issues such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, cramping, vomiting and other stomach complaints to join the study.

The four-week study will be conducted by the New Orleans Scleroderma Patient Care and Research Center using a mixture of telephone counseling and online questionnaires. Participants will need to follow a special diet dictated by the organization and report back any symptoms they experienced during the four weeks.
