Town Rallies Round Police Chief With Scleroderma
According to WCPO Cincinnati, a town is rallying around its chief of police and raising funds to cover his medical expenses.
Darryl Haussler has served Butler County, Ohio for more than 20 years and now the town wants to repay him. Recently diagnosed with scleroderma, Haussler’s condition has deteriorated very quickly. He is no longer able to work as he needs to have kidney dialysis three times a week and remains in the hospital.
The police department in neighboring Delhi, where Haussler spent most of his time on the force before becoming the chief in Ross Township, is organizing a fundraiser for their colleague. The event will be held on February 11 to coincide with Haussler’s 51st birthday and is set to be a great success with 300 tickets sold so far.
